On April 5, a day after the 46th anniversary of the death of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel reopened. Closed for a year and half for a $27.5 million renovation, the museum includes the motel where King was assassinated.
